US Department of State report on trafficking in persons: Erroneous remarks on Algeria, a “non- event”
ALGIERS- The publication of 2015 US Department of State report on trafficking in persons, released on July 27, and which includes erroneous observations on Algeria, is a “non- event,” said Sunday the Spokesman of Foreign Affairs Ministry Abdelaziz Benali Cherif.

In a reply to a question about 2015 report of the American Department of State on the trafficking in persons, the spokesman said that the publication of this report is a “non- event” and that “the allegations stated mechanically and repetitively therein ignore the values of the Algerian people as well as the commitments assumed, in good faith, by all the competent national authorities.”
“Therefore, this is a routine practice which cannot harm Algeria’s image internationally as well the quality of the dialogue between Algeria and the United States,” he added.
The spokesman added that the Algerian authorities “expressed to the American side their position through the appropriate diplomatic voices.”
